New Addition to the "Willow" Project: Fiscal Sponsorship for Filmmakers
So…
This year I learned a lot about building as you go: Filmmaking in COVID, Shooting a feature, giving fiscal sponsorship program - I did it all while running a non-profit production company. And I didn’t do alone - shoutouts to the team Katrina Reid, Jade Notice, Kim Wilson Marshall, Suswana Chowdhury, and Pierre Jean Gonzales 🖤💪🏿.
We finally went for it! I found a team, built a dream - and we went for it! And we’re still going for it. And I’m still proud - we’re making a movie. And good work takes time.
To our supporters & friends alike: Thank you all for showing so much love and kindness to me and the “Willow” crew. It makes everything so much more worth the work.
But, what I’m really here to talk about are FISCAL SPONSORSHIPS.
For artists: they’re hard to get.
The only shop in town - that I know of - is Fractured Atlas. And for many artists of color working with restricted resources, they might be too pricey & selective in their process.
SO, I’M MAKING OUR OWN TABLE.
Under the “Willow” Project, we’re introducing Fiscal Sponsorships for filmmakers. Just as Fractured Atlas offers fiscal sponsorships & development training to theatrical artists & projects working on social change, so is The Notice Blog offering the same to filmmakers & project working on social change through the “Willow” Project. We want to be able to support more groundbreaking work from BIPOC/Queer/Femme/Immigrant folx out there. Here’s yet another how we can do it.
We’re currently running the pilot program w/ @GlennQuentinGeorge Higher Vibrations Collective, as our first fiscal sponsorship recipient. However, in 2021, we will formally be opening up the pilot program to the public for 3 more recipients to join our program at a discounted rate.
If you want to apply, support, or stay up-to-date on the “Willow” project. Check the #linkinbio or just head over to www.TheNoticeBlog.com/Willow, and sign up for our newsletter!
Happy Holidays, folx!
