Afrofuturist Vampire Dance Party
Thanks to your continued support, since we began crowdfunding since 2020. Back then, you supported our journey of turning a 2013 stage play, “Willow,” into a short film, “Willow: State of Emergency.” After our premiere screening at the Nuoyican Poets Cafe, winning Best Short Film of the Chicago Black FIlm Fest, and winning the WAVE Farm MAAF grant - we premiered the FIRST FOUR EPISODES of “Willow: House of Griots" in front of a live audience at Here Performing Arts Center.
And thanks to your support in making last year’s AVD Party an absolute hit, we were able to find representation for not only House of Griots, but also for a BRAND NEW FEATURE FILM in the “Willow” saga, “Willow: INVASION.”
This year, we’re raising funds to develop two highly-anticipated new feature film scripts: “Willow: Invasion,” and Paul Notice’s experimental Afrosurrealist autobiopic tackling generational love, trauma, and healing called, “Limerence.” So, join us as we celebrate the start of these new projects, and boogie down in a world of melanin and vampires!

Over the past 6 years as a 501(c)3 nonprofit production company, we produced breathtaking work for a litany of clients in film and performing arts. In 2020, we launched the “Willow” program, which not only furthers the participation of Black, Indigenous, and Queer people behind the camera on a story told from our perspective but also fosters community and dialogue through discussions and events centered around the themes in the work itself.
We are now gearing up for an extraordinary night that celebrates the release of "Willow: State of Emergency" on Amazon Prime Video, and raises funds for our highly-anticipated Afrofuturist Multiverse series, "Willow: House of Griots."
Our Afrofuturist Vampire Dance Party will take place on Friday, December 8th, 2023, at First Live (219 Central Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11221). Featuring a sneak peak from our film on Amazon Prime Video, performances by DJ Zeke and Jay Cass, and local vendors like Black Thoughts; the AVD Party’s theme is cosplay centered around the Afrofuturist Vampiric world of “Willow,” and other Black Vampires from different genres.
The Writer and director of the “Willow” series will name the winner of the Costume Contest at the end of the night. Whether you come as Drolta from "Castlevania: Nocturne," Akasha from Queen of the Damned, or Blade - we’re gonna see it. It'll all be live-streamed via multiple cameras by First Live, accompanied by professional photography that'll also be circulated on social media and our promotion of future events and screenings.
Don't miss your chance to be a part of a unique experience that’s supporting the Film & TV from the perspective of the Black, Indigenous and Queer people. Buy your tickets today!
