Rise From the Rubble

rub·ble

ˈrəb(ə)l/

noun

  1. waste or rough fragments of stone, brick, concrete, etc., especially as the debris from the demolition of buildings.

When you think of rubble, you normally don’t equate it to your personal life. It’s no secret that life comes at you fast and the only way to survive it is to stay strong in who you are, and steadfast in your beliefs. The things you do today will affect the results of tomorrow, and we have learned all too clear that tomorrow isn’t promised. Thinking about the journey we endure during life, one has to remember that no matter what you go through, you can never give up.

Endurance is something we all have within. We have to remember that in order to come out on top, you have to always utilize your inner endurance, and be more than a conqueror. Rising from the Rubble is something that is a constant in my life with being in the Entertainment Industry. Every new opportunity runs the risk of turning into rubble, and with that I must know how to always see the good within every situation, and make the most of it.

Understanding that I can control my destiny allows for the rubble to appear less like mess, and more like opportunities. Think about this: if you evaluate every piece of rubble as an individual piece, you allow yourself the opportunity to really examine the rubble to see if you can make something of it. We all know the saying: “One man's trash is another man's treasure.” This same thought applies to the rubble in which we encounter.

Recently, I had the chance to speak with Alex Jante of the Steel River cast, and we discussed “Rising from the Rubble.” In talking with him, he made an amazing point, he said, "Good times cultivate, hard times motivate, and both help a person's character elevate beyond his or her wildest possibility.” Taking a moment to reflect on his words, you realize that rubble may not be so bad after all.

Regardless of the rubble life throws at you, remember that you have the power to see the treasure within the rubble. If you elevate your thinking, you can elevate your life.
