The Notice Blog?

The Notice Blog (aka The Notice Foundation, Inc), is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit production company that develops and supports narratives from marginalized communities. We take pride in producing experimental films, documentaries, music videos, and performing arts for/from BIPOC, Queer, Immigrant, and Formerly-Incarcerated artists, narratives, and communities.

Our for-profit sister company, TNB Studios, is an award-winning NYC-based production company that offers video production and post-production services, along with in-house news and a signature style of creative storytelling.

Who is Paul Notice?

As a NY Emmy Award-winning producer, with over 12 years of filmmaking and journalism; Paul A. Notice II (Georgetown ’09, NYU ’11) has produced, directed, or edited projects for a wide scale of artists including: Mykal Kilgore, NIC Kay, Holland AndrewsCedric Leiba Jr., J. Read, Melanie Charles, Taja Lindley, David Whitwell, Kendra Foster, and Von Middleton.  They’ve also produced work for MSNBC, OkayAfrica, Re-Entry Rocks, LYFT, The Policing & Social Justice Project, JLUSA, Elite Daily, The Legal Aid Society, FACE Africa, OkayPlayer, Fresco News, even successful Kickstarter campaigns.  

For 9 years and counting, Paul stars as Nelson and Antonin Mooncrest, in the award-winning podcast The Once and Future Nerd. They’re also the 2022 Jury President of the AD and D Awards, and a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi.

They’ve also produced work for 651 Arts, MSNBC, OkayAfrica, Re-Entry Rocks, LYFT, The Policing & Social Justice Project, JLUSA, Elite Daily, The Legal Aid Society, FACE Africa, OkayPlayer, Fresco News, even successful Kickstarter campaigns. It’s work that’s recently earned them Wave Farm’s 2022 MAAF Grant, and Best Short Film of the 2023 Black Film Summit in Chicago for their Directing, Producing, Cinematography and Editing in their Afrofuturist thriller now available on Amazon, “Willow: State of Emergency.” 

It’s work that earned them the 2019 Spotlight Gold Award for their recent documentary, A Wonderful World: a Louis Armstrong. An earlier 2019 documentary, “Shaw Boyz” earned the 2019 ISA Bronze Award for Best New Web & Media and the Official Selection. In the same year, Paul directed the gritty psychedelic ode to Newark, "Everything," for Hip Hop artist J Read - which won the 2019 Audio Shoot Unsigned Festival Award for Best Hip Hop Music Video. 

Crafting a good story has always been critical to Paul’s career as a producer: whether it’s the story of others (documentaries), the stories that never happened (films), the story of sound (music videos), or everything else in between.

From their performance in the 2010 GLAAD Award Winning play “She Like Girls” (Working Man’s Clothes) and their written work like the Loraine Hansberry Award-Nominated “Leaves, Trees, Forest”(MPAACT), to their most recent NY Emmy Award-Winning documentary, “Broken Windows”(Elite Daily).

Recently, Paul co-directed and edited, “Release,” which won the 13th Annual Fargo-Moorhead Film Festival, while their Director of Photography work helped “Unbroken” win Best Performance in the 2021 Experimental, Dance & Music Film Festival.
