Texas is enacting a law that requires all fetal remains - from both abortions and miscarriages to have a funeral. A federal judge blocked the order, until a ruling can be made on the lawsuit reproductive rights groups have put forth to stop the law from going into place. The effect of the law is quite clear in that it’s meant to both shame women from having abortions, and also make the process prohibitively costly.
